Leo’s Kids Update Amar Going Home

Amar is the sweet, gentle, and funny 11-year-old boy who first came to us 4 months ago when Dr. Rachana brought him to our attention after his lymphoma relapsed.

This week Sunil spoke with Amar and his mother as they were preparing to leave Leo’s Kids flats. This followed months of treatment after which it was determined that his cancer is no longer considered curable. Through the generosity of all of you, Team Leo’s Kids, we were able to help this precious boy and his family by providing treatments and medications throughout these months, besides giving them safe housing and nutritious foods. When the medication inevitably brought difficult side effects, our team was able to offer ambulance rides to the hospital in the midst of the long lockdown. We would never have been able to offer this level of support to this family without the help of Team Leo’s Kids.

As Amar and his mom were preparing to leave, Sunil called them to pass along all of your encouragement to them, and to let them know how important they are to all of us.
