The Leonardo Edward Shrestha Foundation was founded in loving memory of Leonardo Edward Shrestha, whom we lost to brain cancer on October 31, 2019. Our precious Leo graced this world for only 8 and a half months, but through his memorial foundation, we want to give other children like Leo a chance to experience the world much longer. His story and battle with brain cancer has motivated us to help other children like him.
Our foundation is based in Minnesota, USA, and our better purpose is to help children diagnosed with cancer. We have personally experienced various hurdles when Leo was being treated. So we understand the stress it brings upon the whole family, and seek to ease the process for other families like ours. Leo’s dad grew up in Nepal and knowing the situation in the country, we recognize that children suffering from cancer in Nepal need all the help they can get.
We provide monetary support to children and their families throughout their cancer treatment and help them with the financial stress. It is not necessary that the money goes solely to hospital costs. The family can use it for food, clothes, transportation and so on as necessary. With some financial help coming their way, the family can focus more on the care of their child. That is our idea behind the foundation and we are working to help many children and families fighting pediatric cancer.
