Remembering Ashmita

Dear friends, this morning at about 10am our darling Ashmita Gurung passed away. Ashmita was admitted to the hospital for the past 20 days due to low blood counts.
Precious Ashmita first came to us in April this year as our 87th Leo’s Kid. 10-year-old Ashmita and her family fought blood cancer for the second time at the age of 9. Ashmita was first diagnosed with blood cancer when she was 7 years old.
Ashmita and her family stayed with us in our Leo’s Kids P-Flats for 164 days and we have been so thankful for the opportunity to get to know her and her family and for the support you all gave her during her treatment.
Beautiful Ashmita is leaving her father, mother, her siblings, and aunt along with other relatives and her friends.
We extend our love and deepest condolences to Ashmita’s parents as they remember their unforgettable and beautiful little daughter. Ashmita was a brave and kind little girl, a wonderful daughter, a sweet sister to her siblings, and so much more.
Dear Ashmita, we will work to honor your memory by giving other children like you a chance to fight their cancer and a chance to have hope.
