LeosKids Update: Yogendra

Sometimes words just aren’t enough. Our hearts ache with Yogendra’s mom and dad as they mourn the passing of their beautiful son. We were honored and blessed to know about him even for a short time and will pray for his family in these days and weeks ahead.

Meet our youngest LeosKid – Yogendra Niraula

This precious little boy is only 20 months old and his mom and dad have brought him to Civil Hospital where Dr. Rachana Upreti brought him to our attention.

Yogendra began treatment two months ago due to a sinus syndrome which later turned to blood cancer. This little sweetheart is in a lot of pain right now as his liver and spleen are severely enlarged. With his blood counts being too low right now, he needs special blood transfusions from a donor that receives special treatment ahead of time to help boost Yogendra’s immune system which cost around USD $275 each time.

The Leonardo Edward Shrestha Foundation will be providing the cost of the initial injections and transfusions along with living expenses for Yogendra’s family in Kathmandu for the duration of his treatment which is estimated at around one year.
