Meet our 80th newest Leo’s Kid, Saraswati Bumi!

7-year-old Saraswati joins our Leo’s Kids family just 4 weeks after receiving a diagnosis of blood cancer.

Saraswati’s family had already had its share of challenges as her older siblings have other health issues. This along with her parents’ dire financial situation resulted in having Saraswati move to Kathmandu with a woman who owns a hostel. She became her guardian, was taking good care of her, and sent her to school.

However, one day recently on her way back from school, Saraswati collapsed and her hostel brothers brought her to Patan Hospital.

❤️‍🩹 Saraswati’s mother came to Kathmandu with all their money to pay for the hospital and treatment. Once the money was gone she decided to take her daughter home and abandon treatment.

Dr. Sucharita personally gathered the bills and paid for them and then reached out to us for a place where Saraswati and her mom can stay once she’s released from the hospital.

We have a room ready for Saraswati in our newest Leo’s Kids Flats near Patan Hospital and will keep you updated on young Saraswati’s progress here and on our website.
