We are honored to welcome 9-year-old Ankit Mahato from Janakpur as our 339th Leo’s Kid. This brave young boy has been diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma and is currently receiving treatment at Bhaktapur Cancer Hospital.
Ankit and his family are now staying at our B-Flat – Ojha Family, providing them with a safe and comfortable home away from home while he receives care. He is supported by his father, Santosh Mahato, who works as a driver, and his mother, Munni shah, who is a housewife. When he is feeling up to it, Ankit likes watching television and playing the guitar.
Ankit’s medical journey has been a long and complex one. It began with leg pain that initially seemed to resolve with medication, but after two years, his leg suddenly became swollen again. The family sought treatment in India, where he underwent surgery and had regular check-ups. Unfortunately, the swelling returned. The family then traveled to Kathmandu, visiting Medicity, the Trauma Centre, and Bir Hospital. After further few medical tests, Ankit was officially referred to Bhaktapur Cancer Hospital to continue his treatment.
